I wake to the alarm on my phone, and groan as I reach for it on the nightstand. As pleasurable as our middle-of-the-night lovemaking session was, I’m dragging ass this morning. Coffee will be a must, as will sleeping on my flights.

I roll back toward Brian, snuggling into his warmth for just a few more moments. He groggily wakes, pulling me closer as he places a kiss to the top of my head.

“Morning, beautiful,” he croaks out, sleep still filling his voice.

“Morning,” I say, sadness filling mine.

Brian picks up on it right away, and rolls me so he can look down at me.

“Hey, none of that,” he says, cupping my face. “We’ll get through this. We’ll figure out how to deal with the distance, and just remember, only a few more weeks and we’ll be back together for over a week.” He places a sweet kiss to my lips. “Now, let’s get you up and showered, fed, packed, and to the airport.”
